It is a remake of the 1932 film of the same name, In turn based on the novel of the same name first published in 1930 by Armitage Trail. It tells the story of Cuban refugee Tony Montana (Pacino), who arrives penniless in Miami during the Mariel boatliftand becomes a powerful drug lord. Like most gangster or mafia movies, Scarface is a must watch. The whole feels of this movie between the very strong performances and its thrilling storyline; everything is just so carefully made. The legend is Al Pacino as Tony Montana, and the way he plays the character spot on with critical rawness and depth in his portrayal. Its soundtrack, an adrenaline-dripping drum and score combo, played in conjunction with the ensuing high-stakes drama taking place onscreen add an eerie level of anticipation to the experience.
